This is something I use on a regular basis to speed up my PC. Temporary files, recycle bin, Windows temp files, system logs and all other clutter accumulates on a regular basis. Running Disk Cleanup Utility can clean this mess within a few clicks. Press (Win + R) – type cleanmgr and hit Enter. Select the drive partition and click on the Ok button to scan for clutter. Put a check on all the files listed except the Downloads folder (If it contains useful files) and click on the ‘Okay’ button.

Microsoft Windows 10 has a wonderful inbuilt utility to clean up temporary files from the hard drive. Press (Win + I) – click on ‘System’ followed by ‘Storage’ option in the left-hand side panel. Click on ‘Temporary Files’ under Local Disk C: and select files to remove. Windows will scan all the temporary files and show the result to select unwanted items. Click on the ‘Remove Files’ button to eliminate clutter and speedup Windows PC.

Run a Virus Scan

Virus, spyware, or malware infections can also slow down PC performance. Apart from Microsoft Windows Defender, there should be a strong antivirus software to keep your system clean and protected. Such antivirus also comes with inbuilt PC cleaners to optimize Windows computer and get the best performance out of your device. Alongside, keep Windows Firewall & Windows Updates turned ON for better results.
