Light-Based Manipulation

Computer technology such as circuit boards and electronic pieces of equipment was first introduced as hand-made devices that required human intervention to solder circuitry boards. As computers became more advanced and popular, robots were implemented to take over these menial physical jobs. Light-based manipulation is the next step in computer technology efficiency. Using a micromanipulation technique, optical traps are installed that can manipulate small amounts of water using light.

For smaller circuit boards where components are unreachable or difficult to work with, a thin light beam is emitted to solder the parts together. This technology is particularly useful for smartphones and tiny computer components.


Once a product has been manufactured it needs to be packaged and shipped. The next step is to print product information. This is where diagraphs can be useful. The beauty of nanotechnology is that it can be applied to almost any industry or manufacturing need. For the industrial sector, this technology can be used to create more stable lubricants, specifically in cars.
